2012 Golf Team Tryouts 

Tryouts will be made up of four nine-hole rounds at Westlake Golf Course,  Monday January 30 - Thursday March 2.  The first group will go off each day at 3:30 pm.

For tryouts, you must:

Bring with you a completed "stamped blue card" which will be given to you when you go through the preliminary clearance process (see below); Be appropriately dressed (no jeans, t-shirts, etc); Carry your own bag; Be prepared to play under tournament rules with an understanding of the rules (coaches will be on course to assist with rulings, etc.) Knowledge of the rules and the ability to play under tournament conditions is an important part of the tryouts; and Have a great attitude.

Generally speaking we are looking for golfers who can AVERAGE 40 or better over the four rounds.

To participate in tryouts you first must go through preliminary clearance which takes place on Wednesday, January 25, 12:15 - 1:30 pm at OPHS.You must complete and bring with you to clearance the following documents:

Emergency Blue card (which can be picked up at the front desk in the athletic office).

Physical/Insurance form completed and signed by parent and doctor.  Click here to download form.

Your physical must be dated to clear you through the entire season which ends in mid May.

 

 

  Field Set for 2012 Oak Park Invitational

Thirty two teams and four individuals representing 25 schools from throughout Southern California make up the field for the 12th annual Oak Park Invitational, March 12, 2012 at North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village.  Now in its second decade, the event has sold out every year since its inception.

The OPI is an 18-hole medal play event with trophies awarded to the top three individuals and three-person teams. The course will once again be set up using the same tees and pin positions as is used in the USC Invitational, with green speeds running about 11-12.  The event begins promptly with a 12:30 pm shotgun start.  Players receive tee prizes, bag lunch and dinner provided by In N' Out.

Comprising the field are: Agoura, Arroyo Grande, Atascadero, Beverly Hills, Buena, Calabasas, Chaminade, Edison, Hart, Harvard Westlake, Loyola, Mira Costa, Moorpark, New Community Jewish, Oak Park, Oaks Christian, Rio Mesa, San Marcos, Santa Barbara, Thousand Oaks, Valencia, Viewpoint, West Ranch and Westlake.
